Every year the Crew participates in a SUPER activity which is defined as a long-term activity.  The Crew has a three year rotation between Philmont Scout Ranch, Northern Tier (Bissett) and a youth planned event the third year.  Philmont Scout Ranch is located in New Mexico and is a high adventure base where youth and adult backpack on eight to ten day treks where they have the opportunity to stay at staffed and non-staffed camps.  The staffed camps allow participants to try activities like shotgun shooting, horseback riding and rock climbing.  Northern Tier is a series of canoe bases located on either side of the United States and Canadian border that allow participants to canoe on ten day trips.  For the last two trips we have visited Bissett, the most northern base, which allowed us to fly a bush plane out to some of the most rugged country any of us had ever seen.  Every third year the scouts get to plan their own trip from the ground up.  Past trips have included a "Surf and Turf" and a long-distance road trip.  For the surf and turf trip we back-packed up and over devil's thumb and then went white water rafting.

2010 - Summer Adventure: The Crew just got back from its 2010 Summer Adventure.  This trip had it all: a full day white water rafting, bob sledding, alpine slides, alpine coaster and an amusement/water park plus a lot of great fellowship!

2009 - Philmont Scout Ranch: The Crew went on a ten day trek that included shooting rifles, horseback and rock climbing.    The Crew did roughly 60 miles in ten days and faced the daunting challenge of days of rain.

2008 - Matt & Dave's Excellent Adventure:  What is better than spending the fourth of July on Hunnington Beach?  Going with the Venture Crew and stopping at Disneyland, Universal Studios, the Olympic Park in Park City, Utah and touring the historic city of Salt Lake City.  Imagine bob sledding, riding ziplines and a nordic track and that only the first day.  The most memorable moment of the trip was watching the fireworks at Hunnington Beach on the fourth of July.

2007 - Northern Tier (Bissett): How would you like to travel to Canada for 10 days of canoeing in the remote wilderness?  We started the trip by flying to Winnipeg where we took a bus ride three hours North.  From there we took a 30 minute bush plane ride further into the wilderness.  From here we spent the next ten days canoeing 42 miles, fishing, relaxing and playing a lot of card games.  Some of the highlights included completing two of the hardest portages (land bridges between two bodies of water), death swamp and heart break , and catching so many fish that half way through everyone was tired of fishing!  We ended the trip by touring Winnipeg which included seeing downtown and of course going to the mall and getting caught up on the latest movie.

2006 - Philmont Scout Ranch: The Crew went on a ten day trek that included shooting rifles, horseback and rock climbing.    The Crew did roughly 50 miles in ten days and faced the daunting challenge of days of rain.  They learned to slip and slide up and down the trails; the most challenging part of the trip was packing up two burros for a day of backpacking in the rain.
